About the Position

Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 13-week assignment

Highlights:

• 31-bed medical-surgical progressive care unit with daily census around 25 patients
• Comprehensive patient population including COPD exacerbations, CKD, bacteremia, anemia/GI bleeds, and altered mental status
• 24 hours of orientation provided to support your transition to the unit
• Interdisciplinary team support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
• Float required within the organization to support patient care needs across units
• First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience and qualifications

Requirements:

• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of progressive care or step-down nursing experience
• Must be proficient in CPAP/BiPAP management and medication titrations
• Charge nurse capability on night shift is required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, cardiac drip titration, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Skills required include chest tube management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, PCA pumps, and peripheral line management
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required

• Weekend coverage required as part of standard scheduling rotation
